What’s new this week?
- Option to set a country code as default for phone numbers
- Creating task dependencies through automation
- Cards in chat
1. Option to set a country code as default for phone numbers
This has been an issue we’ve struggled with for a long time, as ClickUp would default phone numbers in forms to the US format. This change has finally fixed it.
However, by default it won’t be visible — you need to manually edit the phone field and change the “Default value” to a Polish phone number.

2. Creating task dependencies through automation
Another new feature is a new option in automations. When creating a task or subtask via automation, you can now automatically connect it with another task through a relationship.

It is possible to:
- set a connection between the created task and the task that triggered the automation
- set the new task to wait until the triggering task is completed
- set the new task to block the task that triggered the automation
Unfortunately, it is not possible to select any arbitrary task — for that you need a separate “add relationship” automation. Dynamic selection is also not possible.
3. Cards in chat
The last new feature is the ability to add cards, like the ones we have in dashboards, to the new ClickUp chat. They appear in a miniature format as shown above, and when hovered over, details are displayed.

At the moment, 5 different cards are available. Below are each card and their expanded view on hover:
- Battery chart

- Calculation

- Task list

- Bookmarks

- Notes
